The Sarthak Biotech’s plant first phase came into full production in ….. 2003. The karnal unit of Sarthak Biotech is being developed on an area of 50,000 sq. ft. in the industrial park and Separate Section has been set up in accordance with the WHO-GMP Standard.

The manufacturing unit is facilitate with all the modern, Latest, Hi-tech machine and equipment for manufacturing facilities of (Non-Beta lactum & Beta lactum) – Tablets, Capsules, Liquids, Dry Syrups and External Preparations include ointments, creams, gels, lotion and much more. The plant has been built in accordance with the safety standards and environment regulations. The plant has also house ample fire safety measures besides regular staff training sessions.


In 2005 Sarthak Biotech expanded its product range to includes different new combinations of external preparation section. Sarthak Biotech’s current product range include anti-infectives, anti-inflammatory and arthritis, cardiovascular, anti-diabetic, gastrointestinal formulas, respiratory system drugs, cough mixtures and multivitamins.
Currently manufacturing capabilities include tablets, capsules, liquids, powder and topical’s which are package, stored, batch released and distribute world wide, using the expertise of our Qualified Persons on site.

The early intermediate and API are produced from renowned manufacturer after further processing they are being processed in patient friendly doses in the company’s plant.
The next big expansion for Sarthak Biotech’s will be to establish a range of own brand over-the counter medicines in the Asia pacific region as well as in herbal and cosmetic products which is currently being planned, will allow production of important formulations of Drugs & Cosmetics.
In adding to the manufacture of our own developed products, Sarthak Biotech offers contract manufacturing of solid dosage forms, liquids, tropical’s and powders. We can Quantities batch from lab scale to pilot stage through to commercial production.

We also have the ability to handle controlled drugs.


Salient Features of the product protection from contamination & cross-contamination
Use of gravity / vacuum transfer system for the product movement and high degree of automation for product & personnel safety.
Unidirectional Flow of Men & Materials:
 
Men-material flow: Uni linear man and material movement for the starting and finished products ensure prevention of mix-ups. The plant is designed in “U” shape for the movement of uni linear material movement for prevention of cross contamination.

Zone concept:
The Facility is divided into three zones for area demarcation.
Yellow zone after primary change,
Orange & Red for secondary change. Red is for segregated area like Antibiotics.
By having zone concept the contamination of starting material and finished products are avoided. Theses are validated periodically to ensure prevention of cross contamination.

Tablets Department:
 

Granulation equipments like mixer granulator, automated loading and unloading systems utilizing the principle of vacuum transfer, Fluid bed dryers and blending systems, capable of manufacturing customized batch size.

Tablets compression equipments operating on the latest pre compression mechanism, capable of handling materials with varying physical properties. These machines operated under the strict supervision of our department head’s by the highly trained and experienced operators
Coating systems are capable of both enteric and iron enteric film coating along with setup for sugar coating.

Vacuum dryers installed in the plant for processing highly moisture sensitive products such as effervescent tablets.

Capacity: 300 million tablets per annum*

Beta-Lactum Tablets Department:
 
All the appropriate precautions similar to those of Beta-Lactum dept. are taken for assuring product containment with the department.

The blocks are isolated from other manufacturing facilities and all movements of personnel and materials from and in to the block are restricted. All necessary precautions are taken to ensure that the product is contained with the manufacturing sections. The pressure differentials are maintained for eliminating any scope for the cross contamination into any other sections.

Personnel are subjected to periodical medical check up so as to detect any sensitivity problem.
Similarly all the necessary personnel protection measures mentioned above are also taken.
The basic manufacturing machine and equipment are similar to those of general tablet section.

Capsules Department:
 
Fully automatic capsule filling equipment capable of filling capsules in eight hours shift. This machine is capable of filling hard gelatin capsules in the size range 00 to Size 3. This fully programmable equipment operates on tempting principle and can achieve high precision in the fill weight of capsules.

Operations starting from material loading till ejection of good quality, polished capsules are automatic.

Beta-lactum Capsule Department:

Oral Liquid:
 
Liquid in precise quantity-capping-sealing-measuring cup-labeling-cartoning –shipper.

Different types of formulations such as clear syrups, Suspensions, Emulsions, and Elixirs etc. can be produced in the section.

Oral liquid manufacturing section comprises of fully automatic bottle filling line comprises of bottle cleaning machine, Syrup filling, bottle sealing and measuring cup fitting machine. Other equipments in this line are automatic labling machine, Cartonato and case packer.

To summarize, this line can fill and pack around 25000 bottle in a shift with minimum human involvement.

Topical-Ointment, Cream, Gels and Lotions:
 
This is a dedicated department planned for the manufacturing of ointment / cream formulations.

Appropriate precaution taken to ensure containment of the product within the department.
Entry / Exit of personnel are allowed through the air-shower units. The pressure differentials in the area are planned to eliminate the scope for cross contamination from or to any other section.

 
Topical manufacturing facility comprises of jacketes kettles, for handling wax and water phases separately. Online homogenizers, capable of achieving high precision oil / water distribution are provided, which ensure accuracy of drug distribution. Metering pumps capable of transferring highly viscous semi solids are provided for transferring creams and ointments from manufacturing vessels to tube filling machines.

Tube filling equipment is capable o filling both aluminum and lami tubes. This machine can fill up to 70 tubes a minute. It works on displacement mechanism and is equipped with piston and rotary valve system. An online cartonator is provided for packing the filled tubes in to cartons.


Capacity: 6 million tubes per annum


Dry Syrup:
  Department is designed for processing of the Dry Syrup preparations. The product is blended using the blender.

Filling & Packing: Bottles are cleaned with the help of dry and filtered compressed air with simultaneous application of the vacuum. Product is filled in the bottles using Monoblock dosing and capping. Filled bottles are weighed using On-line weighing Machine for monitoring the filled quantity. The bottles are than labeled and packed in cartons using the cartonating machines described above and are then packed into the shippers with the help of Automatic Case packer machine.

Capacity: 7.2 million bottles per annum.
